After a long speculation the decision is now being made and Vidya Balan will be in and as ‘Mehrunissa’ in Sudhir Mishra’s next film.

Vidya Balan will play Mehrunissa

Earlier name of Katrina Kaif was also considered for the role. But now Vidya has been finalized for the same.

Towards the end of this year, Vidya will be joining the panel of ‘Mehrunissa’. It is s because of her other commitments.
As source says, “That’s when Vidya will be free of her next assignment namely Rajkumar Gupta’s Ghanchakkar.”

The film has passed from UTV Motion Pictures to DAR Motion Pictures, a rival to UTV. Vidya has agreed to do the film but she has given priority to the UTV’s Ghanchakkar.

A source claims, “Sudhir has no option but to shoot with her during year-end when she is free. Since he and producer Nikhil Advani are very keen to have Vidya on board to play Mehrunissa, they are willing to wait it out.”

Vidya will essay Mehrunissa in two different time periods. At the age of 20 and at the age of 62 but the buzz is that her

older version will be carried out by the noted actress of yesteryears, Waheeda Rehman.
An insider says, “It’s interesting that Vidya would be asked to model the older avatar of her character on Waheedaji and share screen space with Bachchan saab and Chintuji. Because Bachchan saab has frequently compared Vidya to Waheedaji.”

However Vidya will use some skillful makeup and prosthetics so as to look convincing to Big B and Rishi Kapoor who act opposite her.

When tried to contact to Nikhil Advani, the producer of the film, he refused to comment on Vidya presence in the film.
